Case analysis of volume design of moderate packaging (II)
II. Considering the volume of packaging based on lifestyle and lifestyle
any product has a certain shelf life and storage cycle. If you do not pay attention to the research of packaging volume and consumption, excessive packaging will not only affect sales and increase the shelf time for sale, but also cause waste for consumers due to long service life. Based on the study of lifestyle, designers can consider the capacity and volume of inner packaging according to factors such as consumer usage and different interest demands
1. Consider the volume of packaging according to the consumption of consumers
the capacity of packaging should be determined according to the consumption of consumers. Some products such as food and cosmetics should also consider the shelf life of the product itself. People need a variety of packaging capacity and sales packaging volume suitable for different occasions. For example, the packaging volume is different for singles and families of three, while the packaging volume is different for household and travel. Focusing on the current fast-paced life, the packaging of products on the market has different capacities, but most of them are spontaneously set by designers or enterprises. Some small packaging capacity is too much for one person to use at a time, but too little for two people. We believe that designers should consult relevant statistical data when necessary, so as to make the determination of consumer consumption more scientific
changes in lifestyle and lifestyle have led to changes in the amount of goods used by consumers. We believe that we can consider from three aspects: one person or one-time consumption as a unit, limiting one-time consumption, and one-week consumption as a unit, so as to increase the focus of new packaging volume design
A. packaging design based on one person or one-time use
in view of the increasing demand of singles and the demand of consumers for "simple consumption" under the pressure of fast-paced work, the packaging of some household food and daily necessities should consider the capacity of one person, and the volume of the packaging itself should also consider small and light. Such as instant noodles, instant rice, tea bags, one-time shampoo bags, etc., the packaging should not only protect the goods, but also complete the information transmission with the simplest visual language. Such packaging generally does not need the transition of medium packaging, and collective packaging (such as the collective packaging of tea bags) should also be simple, and should not be designed with too many levels and high space volume ratio. At the same time, the packaging containers tend to be light and thin paper or PE + paper + aluminum composite materials (compared with the traditional 1 glass containers or metal containers, the volume is saved by 30%, and the weight of the containers is saved by more than 50%), and the convenience of opening is considered
the appropriate packaging for one person should be identified with the packaging of disposable consumer goods in star rated hotels. Domestic star rated hotels provide a series of disposable consumer goods every day, such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. Although they are not for sale, they are all equipped with exquisite packaging boxes to show the image and grade of the hotel. To use these disposable products, we must first discard two layers of packaging, and the products will become waste before they are used up. Regardless of whether the residents use it or not, the cost of this batch of consumer goods is fully included in the accommodation fee. In developed countries in Europe and the United States, star hotels are not prepared for one-time consumption. The development team is not sure what type of commercialized products this research may lead to in the process of dynamic load experiment. This kind of disposable consumer goods and its packaging greatly wastes resources and increases the amount of garbage, which we should vigorously resist (which should attract the attention of the government and functional departments)
b, packaging design that limits one-time consumption
with the improvement of quality of life, people begin to pay attention to the nutritional structure of food intake. Just as fat free (fat free) food is popular in Europe and America, Chinese people are also more and more concerned about the amount of sugar and fat in food. This also opens up a new idea for packaging: in the capacity design of small packaging, there is a consideration of limiting consumption - set the amount of one-time consumption as the capacity of small packaging to increase the humanization of packaging. The packaging design of blue can cookies gives us such inspiration: the smallest packaging of blue can cookies is a stack of three to four pieces of wax impregnated corrugated packaging outside the cookies, which protects the cookies from external forces and limits the amount of food taken at one time (perhaps this is not the intention of the designers). This design thinking can be used in chocolate, candy and other packaging. Packaging decoration design is mainly sales packaging (or integrated packaging), simplifying small packaging design. If it is a gift oriented commodity, the decoration of the small package can be increased, and it is separated by the cardboard structure, but the spacing thickness is appropriate to protect the small package from external force damage (generally controlled within 5mm), and attention should be paid to limiting the space plot ratio
as the family structure has changed, the packaging volume can also be designed based on the consumption of three people at a time. You can also design a set of three small packages. Such packaging design generally pays attention to the warm atmosphere of the family, and the purchase behavior is generally carried out by the housewife, with less gift positioning
c, packaging volume based on weekly consumption
the fast-paced life makes the consumption time of many families based on a week, especially double working families, who are only free to go to large supermarkets on weekends to purchase consumer goods for the next week. Therefore, the consumption of some foods in a week can be the packaging capacity, or 6-7 small packages can be organized in the sales packaging. The combined packaging volume should meet the needs of office workers' life, and can also meet the needs of people for a few days of travel and consumption. At present, there are not many such packages in the market. We just consider packing and transportation, and integrate about 10 small packages into medium-sized packages, or sell them in the form of transportation packaging and pallet packaging in hypermarkets. Half a dozen (6) products are only used in cola, dairy products and beer. We think it can also be extended to vacuum packaged cakes, health products, women's care products, etc
such packaging decoration design can focus on sales packaging, and the decoration and materials of small packaging can be simplified, so as to reduce the cost of packaging. At the same time, the connection of small packages should be used for integration as much as possible, and auxiliary materials should be used as little as possible. In the following two yoghurt packages, the four boxes of yoghurt in Figure 4 are packed in the shape of "field", which are connected by the composite materials at the top, while the five boxes of yoghurt packages in Figure 5 are arranged in the shape of "one", which need to be backed by the corrugated paper at the bottom, and then the PE shrink film pipe should be fixed by sectional pressure test. In contrast, the first package saves material cost and packaging process
